Omaha Hockey Downs Colorado College. Advances to NCHC Frozen Faceoff

Nebraska Omaha Mavericks

The No. 12 Omaha Mavericks came from behind tonight to defeat the No. 10 Colorado College Tigers 2-1 and secure the program's first ever trip to the NCHC Frozen Faceoff.

For the first time in the series, CC scored the first goal, and the Mavericks would have to play from behind. Taking a 1-0 lead over the Mavericks at 15:34 of the first period, Omaha would battle the Tigers back-and-forth until the 17:20 mark of the second period. Jimmy Glynn buried for the second night in a row in a huge spot. Glynn took a pass from Jesse Lansdell at the bottom of the right circle and lit the lamp the exact same way as last night. A backhand five-hole shot.

Tied after 40 minutes, Brock Bremer scored the biggest goal of his career with 13:21 left in regulation. Bremer received a perfect cross-ice pass from Griffin Ludtke, walked into the slot and fired home the game winner by All-NCHC First Teamer, Kaiden Mbereko.

For the remainder of the game, Omaha did a fantastic job of keeping shots to the perimeter, clearing the net front, and making sure to get pucks deep.

The Mavericks will take on top-seeded North Dakota Friday night (March 22nd) in the opening game of the Frozen Faceoff. Puck drop is set for 4:00 pm.
