Three Arrested After Multi-County Pursuit
December 10, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol, with assistance from multiple agencies, have arrested three people following a pursuit and search in Sarpy County.
At approximately 12:00 p.m., NSP was notified that Lancaster County deputies were in pursuit of a vehicle that had fled a traffic stop in Lancaster County. The vehicle had reportedly fled eastbound on Interstate 80. Deputies discontinued their pursuit, and a trooper located the vehicle as it was driving eastbound near mile marker 432. The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to yield and fled with speeds above 100 miles per hour. The trooper initiated a pursuit.
The vehicle then exited I-80 onto Highway 370 eastbound. The vehicle came to a stop near the Omaha National Cemetery and all three occupants fled on foot into a wooded area. Additional troopers, as well as officers and deputies from the Papillion Police Department, Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office, and Omaha Police Department responded to assist.
The combined law enforcement personnel searched the area and located all three suspects, who were taken into custody without further incident. All three suspects are being transported back to Lancaster County. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is the investigating agency regarding the initial traffic stop. Charges are pending at this time.
