Stuhr Plans 4th of July Celebration

Stuhr Museum

The Stuhr Museum has a special day planned for the 4th of July. Marketing Director Karen Hurst talked about the day.

Here’s the schedule:

·         9:00 am: Stuhr Museum opens – be sure to check out our summer exhibit, “On the Homefront: WWII in Nebraska” in the Stuhr Building!

·         10:00 am: German Language Church Service, provided by the Hall County Historical Society; Railroad Town opens

·         12:00 pm: Anvil Firing at the parking lot near the church

·         2:00 pm: A ‘mammoth’ parade down Front Street in Railroad Town accompanied by the Silver Cornet Band. *Children are invited to join in the parade! Meet at the Glade Mill to pick up your very own American flag to wave and keep and enter into the lineup!

·         Following the parade, the band will play a few more songs and we’ll have a patriotic program with some of Railroad Town’s own dignitaries delivering orations

·         At the conclusion of the program, we’ll have some games on the green and a cherry pie eating contest sponsored by our friends at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

·         5:00 pm: Stuhr Museum closes (just in time for you to get home for a cookout and fireworks!)·

The Silver Dollar in Railroad Town will be serving lunch, cold drinks, ice cream and more all day long! We encourage you to bring lawn chairs or a blanket for the parade and program.

Admission fees for July 4th are as follows:
