Roger Jasnoch Announces Retirement After 38 Years with the Kearney Visitors Bureau

Visit Kearney

Roger Jasnoch, Director of the Kearney Visitors Bureau, has announced his retirement after nearly 40 years of service. His last day will be June 27, 2025.

Throughout his tenure, Roger made a profound impact on the tourism industry in not only Kearney, but across the state of Nebraska in his service on the Nebraska Tourism Commission.

A visionary leader, Roger’s legacy includes the inception of community projects such as the Kearney Area Community Foundation, The Archway, Viaero Center, and the American Automobile Experience, collaborating with other entities to make these projects a reality. Roger has also helped Kearney secure many state and regional events including being instrumental in bringing the Nebraska Senior Games to Kearney in 1989, which remain here to this day.

His achievements have been widely recognized, and rightly so. Roger received the Nebraska Tourism Commission’s Henry Fonda Award, the state’s highest tourism honor which celebrates outstanding leadership, vision, and dedication to the industry.

Most recently, he played a pivotal role in the development of the new, state-of-the-art Kearney Welcome Center which is set to open in February.

As he steps into retirement, Roger says “he looks forward to continuing his involvement in the community as an active volunteer through supporting local events and initiatives that contribute to Kearney’s vibrancy and success”.

The Board of Directors expresses its deepest gratitude to Roger for his unparalleled contributions and unwavering commitment to the growth and success of Kearney’s tourism industry.

Current Chairman of the Kearney Visitors Bureau Board of Directors, Paul Younes, says “Roger’s impact on the Kearney area will be felt for generations, and we wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement”.

The Board will work toward developing a plan to fill this position over the next several months. For more information, please contact: Roger Jasnoch, Director, Kearney Visitors Bureau 308-233-4359, or RJasnoch@VisitKearney.org
