Grand Island, Neb. — Local poet and Grand Island resident Alice Torpin will be visiting the Grand Island Public Library to present a poetry reading with a book signing to follow.

The event will take place on Sunday, September 15 at 2 p.m. in Meeting Room BC of the library. Torpin will share her poetry and memories of growing up in a family of 13. With poems such as "Mama's Old Wood Burning Cook Stove," "A Secret with God" and "The Old Place Home," she is sure to bring back memories for listeners as well.
