June Traffic Fatality Toll

July 15, 2026 (Lincoln, Neb.) — During the month of June 2026, twenty-one people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
  
These 21 fatalities occurred in 19 fatal crashes.
-Six of the fifteen vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, six were using a seatbelt, an three had seatbelt usage marked as unknown.
-Twelve of the fatalities were in rural locations.
-There were two fatalities on the interstate, twelve on other highways, and seven on local roads.
-Four of the fatalities were motorcyclists.
-One of the fatalities was a pedestrian.
-One of the fatalities was driving a utility terrain vehicle (UTV).
-One of the fatalities was a bicyclist.
-There were 20 fatalities in June of 2025
-Only 29 of the 85 vehicle occupants killed during 2026 were using seatbelts
