Update: Three Dead in West Arizona Avenue Shooting

(Grand Island, NE) - On Sunday, June 4th, at about 2:30 am, the Grand Island Police Department responded to an incident in the 4100 block of West Arizona Avenue in Northwest Grand Island in which three people are believed to have died from gunshot wounds.

23 year old Emily Goodell had traveled from Lincoln and was at the home when her 26 year old husband, Rex Goodell came "to contact her" early Sunday morning. The 26 year old also shot 23 year old Hayes Morgheim who was living at his parent's home.

While no weapons were fired by Grand Island Police Officers, due to the close proximity of the GIPD officers at the time of the incident, the investigation has been turned over to SCALES (South Central Area Law Enforcement Services) for an impartial investigation. We do not believe there is a suspect still at large. Further press updates will be handled by the Hall County Attorney’s Office or the lead SCALES agency handling the investigation.
