GIPD Swears in 6 New Officers

Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Police Department is six police officers stronger following a trio of ceremonies Thursday, December 12 at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center. GIPD hosted a swearing in and pinning ceremony ahead of the recruits’ graduation ceremony at the LETC.

The six new officers are:

  *   Cameron Petzoldt
  *   Bret Schamp
  *   Solomon Russell
  *   Aidan Graber
  *   Rhegan Jensen
  *   Carlos Parra

The six new officers match the largest incoming class GIPD has seen in decades, which is thanks to GIPD also having the largest class in department history submitted into the latest LETC Training Academy.

“This class brings us back to full staff for the first time in years,” GIPD Chief Kevin Denney said. “These officers will now go through field training over the next several months as they finalize their on-boarding process with the department. We’re excited to have them join the GIPD family.”
