Offense: Shoplifting Victim: Burlington Coat Factory Incident #: L24081092

Offender: Billijoe Shaver
Date and Time of Incident: 8/13/24 @ 18:00
Location of Incident: 2230 Webb Rd
Brief Narrative: On 08/13/2024 Officers were dispatched 2230 Webb Rd N, Ste 100; Burlington in reference to a shoplifting that had occurred earlier in the day. As Officers were following a manager to the back of the store Officers observed a male cutting the security cable off of a pair of shoes with a pocket knife. Officers contacted the male as he was sitting in the shoe section. The male was later identified as Billijoe Shaver. Officers observed Billijoe to have a large black coat on with multiple layers of clothing underneath it. A records check of Billijoe showed him to have two prior shoplifting convictions in Hall County, one dated from 1/24 and another dated from 10/18. Billijoe had concealed $160.87 of merchandise on his person. Billijoe was arrested for Shoplifting 3rd Offense.

Offender: Jason Jelinek
Date and Time of Incident: 8/13/24 @ 19:15
Location of Incident: 2250 N Diers
Brief Narrative: On 08/13/20204 around 1935 hours officers responded to 2250 N Diers Ave, Walmart for threats involving a firearm. Jason Jelinek was witnessed pulling into the parking lot. Jason would exit his vehicle, approach a group of four juveniles that were in and around a vehicle, brandish a firearm towards the vehicle and nearby juveniles, and make verbal threats towards them. One of the juveniles had a baby with her. When the firearm was brandished, Jason knowingly and intentionally made verbal comments towards the victims. The victims were all scared for their lives and believed he would shoot at 
them with the firearm. After brandishing the firearm, Jason entered his pickup and drove  away quickly before officers arrived. Jason would later be contacted were he made statements affirming that he approached the vehicle and had a firearm in his possession. Video surveillance footage from the store confirmed that Jason approached the victims. Jason Jelinek was arrested for Terroristic Threats x4, Child Abuse x5 and Use of a Firearm to
Commit a Felony.
