Offense: Drugs

Location of Incident: N Elm St & W 10th St
Brief Narrative: On 07-16-2024 at approximately 0049 hours, officer observed a vehicle turn west onto 10th St without using a turn signal. Officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as Richard Davidson. Officer would see a syringe in the pouch of his driver door. When officer returned to the vehicle, the syringe was moved. Officer would conduct a probable cause search of the vehicle. Richard would tell officers that he threw the syringe out the window. Officers did not locate a syringe outside of the vehicle. Officers would locate a syringe behind his dash of the vehicle with a bag containing methamphetamine (0.2G). Officers located other syringes and other paraphernalia in the vehicle. Officer would ask Richard where he threw the syringe and he advised he did not throw it out but was found. Richard Davidson was arrested for Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance and Tamper With Physical Evidence.

Brief Narrative: On 07/15/2024 around 2308 hrs, an officer observed a white Dodge Durango traveling northbound on Locust St in the area of Stagecoach Rd with a headlight out. A traffic stop was initiated at Locust St and Wedgewood Dr. Lisandro Gamero Amaya was contacted as the driver of the vehicle with Franchelys Daniel Gonzalez in the passenger seat. Both occupants are under the age of 21 and a vape pen was observed in the center console area of the vehicle. Lisandro gave consent to search the vehicle were multiple items of drug paraphernalia was located. Inside of a purse belonging to Franchelys, a glass pipe with a white crystal like substance was located. Inside the pipe was a weighable amount of crystal like substance that later TruNarc tested as methamphetamine. Franchelys was placed under arrest and a search of her person uncovered a THC vape pen. Frachelys was booked into HCDC for Possession of Controlled Substance (Schedule II) and Possession of Marijuana < 1oz. Lisandro was cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Location of Incident: W Capital & Taylor Ave
Brief Narrative: On 7/15/2024 at 1925 hours, GIPD Officer was running traffic on Capital Ave and Taylor Ave, when he observed a white Chevy Tahoe traveling over the posted 40 mph zone. The Tahoe took a quick turn onto Taylor Ave, and the officer went to stop the vehicle. Before the lights could be activated, the vehicle drove at an extremely high rate of speed through a residential neighborhood to avoid being stopped. There were people out doing yard work and other traffic that the Tahoe did not give due regard to. The vehicle was observed continuing to drive through Grand Island at a high rate of speed even though no police were trying to make stop on the Tahoe. A concerned citizen called in due to the excessive speed, the Tahoe continued to drive at 13th St and Custer Ave. They were able to provide a license plate, which officers were able to make contact with a juvenile and his mother. The juvenile admitted to driving and driving recklessly to avoid being stopped by the officer observing him speeding. The juvenile did not have a valid driver's license, and was cited for Speeding, Felony Flight to Avoid Citation or Arrest and No Driver's License.

Location of Incident: 1510 N Diers Ave
Brief Narrative: On 07-15-2024 at approximately 1908 hours, officer responded to 1510 N Diers Ave, Sam's Club in reference to a shoplifting. An adult female distracted an employee while at the jewelry case. A male broke into the case and stole five rings from the display valuing at $7,265. Both male and female exited the building and left in a vehicle from the area. Case is open.

Location of Incident: 1020 W John St
Brief Narrative: On 07/15/2024, a white dodge pickup was observed traveling on a public roadway without taillights on after sunset. A traffic stop was attempted, and the suspect vehicle fled from the traffic stop at a high rate of speed. While evading police the suspect vehicle failed to stop at three intersections with clearly visible stop signs. Case is open.

Location of Incident: S Locust & Midaro Dr
Brief Narrative: On 07/15/2024 Officers observed a white dodge pickup that matched the vehicle description of a vehicle that had fled from Officers earlier in the evening. The pickup accelerated out of Pump and Pantry on South Locust at such a high rate of speed that the tires began to squeal. Officers then observed the white pickup accelerate at a high rate of speed northbound on South Locust. The pickup then proceeded through the red light at the intersection of Highway 34 and South Locust. The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed past a marked patrol unit. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but due to heavy pedestrian traffic the stop was discontinued. Case is open.
