Aurora wins opening game of the season over Northwest

(Aurora, NE) - The Aurora Huskies won the rivalry matchup for 2022 on the gridiron Friday night defeating the Northwest Vikings by a score of 43-13. The Huskies would score four first-half touchdowns highlighted by a 29-touchdown pass from Knust to Staehr (2pt), an 18-yard touchdown run from Carlos Collazo (missed PAT), and a 40-yard touchdown run from Drew Knust (PAT) to go into halftime with a 29-7 lead. The Vikings would get the first-half score on a 51-yard touchdown pass from Austin Payne to Tyler Douglas (PAT). 

The Huskies would lay on two more touchdowns in the second half. A 3-yard touchdown run by Collazo (PAT) along with a 69-yard half-back touchdown pass from Collazo to Koby Nachtigal (PAT). The other score for the Vikings would come at 3:35 mark in the fourth quarter as Tyler Douglas would run it into the end zone on a one-yard scamper.
