Aurora BB and York Renew Rivalry


The Aurora basketball teams visit York on Friday as part of rivalry weekend. The Aurora girls are 2-2 after falling to Beatrice on Saturday. Adi Fahrnbruch, Kenna Merrihew, and Kaitlin Staehr have been the leading scorers for the Huskies the first two weeks. The Dukes are 3-1 under the direction of Matt Fike, who has taken over for long time coach Matt Kern. 

The Aurora boys are 3-1. Cannon Allen, Booker Scheierman, and Ryan Staehr are all averaging in double figures. The 2-2 Dukes are lead by All Central Conference performer Ryan Huston, who is averaging 18 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. 

Coverage begins at 5:45 Friday on 97.3 the Wolf and features interviews with Kenna Merrihew and Parker Smith. 

Saturday, the Huskies host Northwest to close the pre-Christmas schedule. Varsity girls begin at 3:30 with the boys to follow. Those games will be be broadcast from a Northwest perspective on 103.1 2-Day-FM.
