KEARNEY - For more than 30 years, the employees at CHI Health Good Samaritan have been dedicated to giving to the community at Christmas time. Project Snowflake, the employees’ annual charity drive, collects non-perishable food, personal care items, holiday gifts and monetary donations for those in need.

Today, seven area agencies and two hospital-based charities visited the hospital to collect the donations gathered over the last month on their behalf. The staff at Good Samaritan gave more than $7,400 in products and monetary gifts to the local non-profits through this year’s coordinated effort.

“As local agencies try to meet the rising needs of families and individuals during the holiday season, our donations make a real difference for people right here in our workplace and in our communities,” says Cindi Richter, CHI Health Good Samaritan Foundation. “Our employees are incredibly generous and look forward to supporting Project Snowflake each year. It’s an honor to give back to our community.”

Through Project Snowflake hospital employees had the option to give to the SAFE Center, Salvation Army, Jubilee Center, Crossroads Shelter, Goodfellows, Family Advocacy Network and HelpCare Clinic. Donations of clothing, personal items and transportation fees were also collected for patients in need, in addition to monetary donations for co-workers suffering a loss.
